Photographs should be a reflection of the beauty you feel within. And that means feeling good during your photo shoot. The right lighting, the right angle, the right pose, the right clothes, the right background are all tools for the right pictures. But if you mentally don't feel it, something will be missing. However, when it all comes together, you can feel the shift, and it feels right.
I began my photography journey as a photographer’s assistant in high school - I was the pack mule, film girl, gopher, boutonniere pin-er, light stand, reflector angler, light reader, and dress fluffer. I worked hard and observed not only the photographer, but also what made people feel comfortable and feel attractive. I recognized that how a couple feels on their wedding day is equally as important as the photographs that are delivered. This is true for any photo shoot.
And thus began my mission. To help propel the positive feelings of the day.
Weddings
Not only should you expect beautiful photographs, but if I’m the right photographer for you, we will share a day (or weekend) together that will make you want to relive that day and pick up your wedding album over and over. I have photographed over 100 weddings, and each one is unique in every way. Weddings always have something unexpected happen, and I love helping my clients roll right through them like it was planned that way. I work together with your DJ, venue, and planner to help ensure all the details are covered and you can enjoy your day. My goal is to help make your day what you envision it to be.
Seniors
Seniors, my goal is to provide you with images that you can't wait to share on social media, and for parents, photographs that you will cherish looking at long after your child has left the nest. We want photographs that will represent you, look great in announcements, look like art on the wall, and show future generations what you were like in high school. I want you to feel comfortable, confident and your best self. Let's spend some time together, no stress, focused on you, and let's make some great photos!

How do I book Jen?

Fill out the form
Provide me with a few details in the form, and Set up a 15 minute consultation.

Connect
Before we meet for the photo session, we’ll have a quick call to break the ice and go over the details, including determining the location, date and time. I want you to feel comfortable with me and this will help us both!
03.
Photo Shoot
We will meet at the designated location. We’ll talk for a bit while I set up my camera and make sure everything’s perfect. Then we will get working on making some amazing photos!
04.
Photo delivery
After we're done, I'll get to work editing the photos. The finished photos will be ready and delivered in 5-7 business days for portraits. Weddings, Quinceañeras, and corporate events take 2-3 weeks. But I will be sure to send you some sneak peeks!
I’m kind of nervous about getting my portrait done.
I think that is normal. Even models get nervous when working with a new photographer. As you get to know me, and get comfortable with the directions I give and dumb jokes I crack, I promise you will lose the nervousness and be in the moment. It's my mission to help you feel comfortable and confident.
What should I wear?
#1, make sure you are comfortable. Depending on the location, the style of the pictures you are wanting, and the time of year, there are a lot of options. Let's talk and I can send you a style guide to help you make those decisions.
How many pictures will I receive?
You can expect to receive about 50 - 65 edited images for every hour I am shooting.
Are you available outside of Sacramento?
Yes, make my day! I love our valley and there are unlimited possibilities within 30 minutes. But if there is a special place that means more to you than Sacramento, then let's go! I have a passport ready at all times, so there are no limits to where I can go.
Do you edit the pictures?
I sure do! Every image I send you is lightly edited. I like to leave the natural beauty of who you really are, and if there is something you notice that you want adjusted, we can talk about what that entails.
Can you recommend locations for the photo shoot?
Absolutely! I've got opinions, just ask my kids! However, everyone is different and looking for something unique. Let's have a chat about your expectations. It doesn't mean we need to travel a thousand miles to get what you are looking for. But if that's what you want, I'm happy to join you. But first, let's talk about what your vision is.
